Latest News: I''m pleased to say that we're at release date again. Version 2 of the game makes its way to the Internet, again thanks to Mark for hosting the game for me. The game is the biggest yet, and measures up at just over 2MB, but I'm sure you'll agree that it's worth it. If you don't already know about the new version, it includes several new features and improvements and bug fixes, and an even larger database. There's now 190 wrestlers in the game and 11 federations to chose from - the latest being Midlands Pro Wrestling, and Tri County Association of Pro Wrestling. The game was originally released on 30th November 2003, and thus far I haven't received a penny from sponsors or donations. Therefore, I've changed the download so you must click through a banner to download. I'm sorry if this seems unfair, but many sites do it, and I'm unable to continue with the game unless I receive some financial benefit. Thanks to those who have answered my requests about sponsors, negotiations are ongoing at the present time, but if anyone else is interested in being either a website or in-game sponsor, email me at simondmason@aol.com for more information. Only one plug for the message board and there it was. Please continue to register and post. Anyway, I'm sure you'd prefer to play the game than read this, so enjoy, and as always feel free to make suggestions or post positive criticism on the message board. Bugger, that's twice. Background Information

The Best Of British Wrestling was started in April 2002, but Simon Mason's lack of Visual Basic knowledge meant that the game was put on indefinite hold after just a few weeks. In early 2003, Simon tried his hand at Game Maker and produced a Pacman clone called Munchman, which was well received by the people who played it, but as it was "just another Pacman clone", downloads didn't exactly reach the sky.

April/May 2003 rolled around and Simon restarted work on The Best Of British Wrestling. Initially, it was just a test for himself to see if he could do anymore, but after receiving some help from wrestling sim guru Adam Ryland, and after reading countless guides and downloading examples, the dream of making a wrestling simulator became a reality once again.

And after hundreds of hours of hard work, The Best Of British Wrestling was released on 30th November 2003. Downloads came thick and fast and the game was downloaded over 1000 times in lass than a month until v1.1 was released on 27th December. The game was downloaded a further 800 times in just two weeks after release.

On a final note, please register on the message board. You can ask any questions you have about the game there, and make suggestions about features you want included in the game! And as well as talking about this game, you can talk about other games, wrestling around the world, and anything else that takes your fancy!
